Avirodh Sharma is considered one of the nations leading tabla players from the Caribbean propagating the tradition of rhythm. Trinidadian Born, Avi was trained by his father Dr. Ravideen Ramsamooj, Managing Director of the East Indian Music Academy. His mother Bharati Ramsamooj, Principal and teacher of the Academy together produced over 15,000 graduates throughout New York City and abroad. They are considered to be cultural ambassadors and pioneers from from the Indo-Caribbean community. 

A multifaceted artist- Avirodh Sharma is also a Composer and Producer where his work is featured on films, Fashion Shows, Dance, Theatre, Radio, Documentaries, and TV Commercials. He has been featured on TV Asia, STARZ NETWORK, The NYTimes, NPR Radio, and NY Daily News. He has worked with artists like Riverdance’s Patrick Mangan, David Murry, Karsh Kale, Sterling Campbell and many others. 

In 2015, Avi was nominated for the 14th Independent Music Awards for “Best World Beat Album”. His album release in 2017, Melodic Intersect “Looking Forward” charted 8 weeks at #1 on the World Music Charts and received great reviews around the world. Earlier this year, he was commissioned by Parsons Dance in NYC to compose and perform “Microburst” which received raving reviews. 

Internationally acclaimed, Avi’s performances have captivated audiences in Italy, Switzerland, Nepal, India, Dominican Republic, Bahamas, Trinidad and Tobago, Guyana and the United States.
